2 System overview
2.1 Introduction
IndraMotion MTX micro is the most cost-effective complete solution of the
MTX series, combining the CNC, Motion Control and PLC functionalities in a
single system. HCT02 for 3-axis applications and HCQ02 for 4-axis applica‐
tions are compact hardware units which incorporate control and drive control‐
ler assemblies. All HMI functions are executed and displayed via the VDP80
control panels.

The MTX micro can be specified as turning machine (with
VDP80.1FGN-.. control panel), as milling machine (with
VDP80.1FHN-.. control panel) or as universal machine (with
VDP80.1FKN-... control panel). The panels feature special ma‐
chine-type-related functions such as a built-in handwheel (turning
machine) or override switches for spindle and feed (milling ma‐
chine). Display sizes and axis configurations are also adjusted to
these applications.
