11.1.3 Data backup with the HMI software
Backing up data on the USB flash drive/CF card
The HMI software offers a convenient tool for making a backup of all user da‐
ta of a machine.
From version 13
Proceed as follows to make the data backup:
1. Insert a USB flash drive into the port on the VDP80 control panel. After it
has been registered by the system, an appropriate message is dis‐
played. Omit step 1, if data is only to be backed up on the CF card.
2. Switch to the <Maintain> operating area
3. Press the <F8> (Backup) key
4. Select <F7> (Operator) UserBackup or <F8> (OEM) Backup when log‐
ged in as MTB or Developer, otherwise, the query is not displayed.
5. Press <F8> (Yes) to start the data backup.
6. Wait until the "Backup done" message is displayed, which may take up
to 15 minutes.
