6.2.1 HydrogenSupplyInstallation
An1/8”outsidediameterstainlesssteelcapillarytubewithtwo“Swagelok”type1/8”fittings
andflatsealsisdeliveredwiththegenerator.AnexistingH

gassourcemaybeused,such
as:
• asupplypanel,
• aH
2
gascylinder,or,
• ahydrogengasgeneratorabletodeliver500ml/mingasat10bar.
Step1:ConnectthecapillarySStubetothegassource
1. Determinethelengthofthetubeneededtoreachthesourcefromthegeneratorandadd
1mmore toformafreeloopthatcanbeleftbehindthegenerator.Theloopwillmakeit
possible to move the generator slightly without having to remove the capillary tube. Cut
thetubewithasawanddeburrthetubeends.
2. ConnectthecapillarytubetotheH
2
gassourcewithaSwagelokfitting.
3. Attachthetubetothewall.

1. Wrap12turnsofPTFEtapearoundthefittingthreadandscrewtheSwagelokfittingonto
theH
2
inletonbackpanel.
2. Open the H
2
gas valve and the pressure regulator to purge the capillary line for a few
seconds.
3. ClosetheH
2
gasvalve.
4. Insertthecapillarytubeinthefittingandtightenbyhand.Withawrenchtightenafurther
1¼turntomakealeakfreeconnection.
Oncetheconnectiontothehydrogensupplyhasbeenmade,thegeneratorshouldonlybe
movedoververyshortdistancestoavoidcompromisingthegasconnections.
