Thesoftwareaddsasafetymargintothewidthofthe
implement(orheader)forwheneverthevehiclepasses
closetoanobstacle:1m(3ft)or10%oftheimplement
width(orheaderwidth),whicheverisgreater.Thewarn-
ingbehaviorforanobstacleistriggeredbasedontheim-
plementwidth(orheaderwidth)plusthesafetymargin.
Theobstacletypeselectionshouldbebasedonthewidth
oftheobstacleandhowmuchadvancewarningtheoper-
atorneedstoavoidtheobstacle.

Anopenobstacle(1)ismappedasanarrowlineofGPS
coordinates,markedbythepaththatthevehicletravels.
Theopentypeisdesignedformarkingalongbutnarrow
obstacle–ashallowstream,gully,trench,orsimilarob-
stacle.
Aclosedobstacle(2)ismappedasapolygon(similarto
aboundary),markedbythepaththatthevehicletrav-
elsaroundtheobstacle.Theclosedtypeisdesignedfor
markinganylargeobstacle–apond,river,tree,grove,or
similarobstacle.
Apointobstacle(3)ismappedassingleGPScoordinate
markedwiththevehicle.Thepointtypeisdesignedfor
markinganysmallobstacle–arock,boulder,post,or
similarobstacle.
