Flushingtheradiator
6.Fillthesystemwithamixtureofsodiumcarbonateand
water(oracommerciallyavailableequivalent).
NOTE:use0.5kg(1.1lb)ofsodiumcarbonateforevery
23L(6.1USgal)ofwater.
7.Donotinstalltheradiatorcap.Theengineistobe
operatedwithoutthecapforthisprocess.
8.Operatetheenginefor5minandletthecoolanttem-
peraturearrivesabove80°C(176°F).
9.Stoptheengineanddrainthecleaningmixture.
10.Fillthecoolingsystemwithcleanwater.
NOTE:besuretoventtheengineandradiatorforcomplete
lling.Donotinstalltheradiatorcapornewcoolantlter.

11.Operatetheenginefor5minandletthecoolanttem-
peraturearrivesabove80°C(176°F).
12.Stoptheengine,anddrainthecoolingsystem.
NOTE:ifthewaterbeingdrainedisstilldirty,thesystem
mustbeushedagainuntilthewaterisclean.

NOTE:thesystemhasamaximumllrateof14L/min
(3.7USgpm).Donotexceedthisllrate.
14.Thesystemmustbelledslowlytopreventairlocks.

15.Duringlling,airmustbeventedfromtheengine
coolantpassage.
16.Installtheradiatorcap.
17.Starttheengineuntilitreachesatemperatureof80°C
(176°F),andcheckforcoolantleaks.
18.Checkthecoolantlevelagaintomakesurethesystem
isfullofcoolant.
