batteryduetoslippingbeltinitshousing.
Inspectionoftension
1.Applyngerpressureofabout10kg(22.0lb)atthe
midpointofthebelt,inthepoint(A),(B),and(C),while
theengineisshutdownandthestarterkeyisremoved.
2.Looseoftensioninthepoints(A),(B),and(C)should
beabout:

10–14mm(0.4–0.6in)7–10mm(0.3–0.4in)9–13mm(0.4–0.5in)
Newbelt
8–12mm(0.3–0.5in)5–8mm(0.2–0.3in)7–11mm(0.3–0.4in)
NOTE:checkanyindicationofdamageonthepulleyorbeltduetowear.Checkthoroughlytomakesurethatthebelt
iscorrectlyengagedtogrooveofthepulley.Thebeltmustbereplacedifitiselongated,ithascracksoritiswornout.
Adjustmentoftension
1.Loosentheadjustingbolt(1)andthemountingbolt(2).
2.Rotatethealternator(3)toobtainthecorrectvalueof
tension.
3.Tightenthemountingbolt(2)andtheadjustingbolt(1).
