4 Replacement and Service
4.1 Prerequisites for Replacement
DANGER!
No deviations from approved drawings or modifications of the fire detection system
are allowed without agreement from Consilium.
WARNING!
•
Replacement of loop units must be handled by technical personnel with
sufficient knowledge of the safety level and the various functions in the fire
detection system.
•
Replacement and service involving system modules must be handled by a
service engineer with proper training to service the fire detection system in a
safe and correct way.
•
During repair time the continuing safety shall be ensured by additional
measures and constraints. The safety integrity provided by these measures and
constraints shall be at least equal to the safety integrity provided by the fire
detection system in the absence of any faults.
All dangerous fault conditions affecting the safety function should be addressed
urgently and requires a prompt action for repair or replacement of the diagnosed
cable, loop unit or module.
The service personnel are responsible to maintain documentation for all performed
repair and maintenance activities. The documentation must be kept up to date in a
chronological order and include relevant information according to IEC 61508-1,
7.7.2.1g and 7.15.2.3
CAUTION!
•
Make sure to use spare parts with a compatible firmware version.
•
Always verify that the replaced unit has restored correct functionality of the
system.
NOTE!
A CFD5000 loop unit can be replaced (with a new loop unit of the same type with
the same address) without having to power down or restart the fire detection system.
A CS-Loop M module can be replaced without having to power down or restart the
loop or the fire detection system.
Hint!
Please follow the recommendations for remedy in the Fault code list.
