Figure 11- 7. Ping Test window
The user may use Infinite times radio button, in the Repeat Pinging for field, which will tell the ping program to keep
sending ICMP Echo packets to the specified IP address until the program is stopped. The user may opt to choose a specific
number of times to ping the Target IP Address by clicking its radio button and entering a number between 1 and 255. Click
Start to initiate the PING program.
Save Changes
The DXS-3326GSR has two levels of memory; normal RAM and non-volatile or NV-RAM. Configuration changes are
made effective clicking the Apply button. When this is done, the settings will be immediately applied to the switching
software in RAM, and will immediately take effect.
Some settings, though, require you to restart the Switch before they will take effect. Restarting the Switch erases all
settings in RAM and reloads the stored settings from the NV-RAM. Thus, it is necessary to save all setting changes to NV-
RAM before rebooting the switch.
To retain any configuration changes permanently, click on the Save button in the Save Settings window, as shown below.
Figure 11- 8. Save Settings window
The Switch has three levels of save, which are as follows:
Parameter Description
Save (Only save
config)
Clicking the radio button for this entry will save only the current switch configuration to
NV-RAM.
Save Log (Only save
log)
Clicking the radio button for this entry will save only the current log file to NV- RAM.
