3.2.12 Installation of Outdoor Unit

Foundation of Units
Notes: 1. Standard concrete mix: 1 cement / 2 sand / 4 gravel with 10 reinforcing rods (approx. 300mm intervals).
2. Mortar should be used to level the surface. The edge of the concrete surface should be bevelled.
3. When setting the foundation on a concrete floor macadam is not required but the surface of the
concrete should be broken up to make it uneven.
4. A drainage channel should be made around the foundation to cater for waste water around the
machinery.
5. When installing a unit on the roof be sure to check the strength of the roof and pay special attention to
waterproofing requirements.
6. If the unit is to be installed on a frame, install the waterproofing board within a distance of 150mm under
the unit in order to prevent infiltration of water coming from under the unit.
