10.3 Measures to be taken in the case of other
problems
(a) For any troubles with no error numbers, see “Measures to be taken in the case of other problems” for
the problem, the cause and the measures in the following table.
(b) If the problem is not solved after taking these measures or any other problems occur, or you need a
repair, please contact the sales agency or the nearest office of Toa DKK having the model name, the
manufacturing number (on the back of instrument body) and the purchase date ready.
Measures to be taken in the case of other problems
Problem Cause Action
No response when
power is turned on.
• No battery is installed.
• No power left in battery.
• Replace the battery. >>“4.1 Battery installation”
or “9.7 Replacement of the battery”
• Wrong orientation of battery (+, -). • Check the orientation (+, -) and reinstall the
battery in the correct direction.
• AC adapter (optional item) is not
connected.
• Connect the AC adapter (optional item) correctly.
The screen freezes. • It is in the hold state. • Cancel the hold state.
• Sensor module or electrode in not
correctly connected.
• Connect the electrode of sensor module correctly.
• Broken electrode, cell or sensor. • Replace the electrode. >>“9.5 Replacement of
each part of pH electrodes” and “9.6
Replacement of the dissolved oxygen electrode
(optional)”.
* For a turbidity sensor, an electrical conductivity
cell and a temperature sensor, please contact the
sales agency or the nearest office of Toa DKK.
Unstable
indication, slow
response.
• Air bubbles inside the electrode
(metal part) of electrical conductivity
cell.
• Shake the sensor module up and down for couple
of times to remove air bubbles.
• Air bubble on light
receiving/emitting part of the
turbidity sensor.
• Shake the sensor module up/down and left/right in
the specimen solution to remove air bubbles. If
you still can not remove the air bubbles, take the
sensor module out of the solution and hold it
firmly and swing it out to shake the water and air
bubble off the sensor module. *Make sure there
are no object or person in the surroundings. Do not
shake it by the cable.
