⑧ Measure, again, Solution C for checking …… >> from “ ③ Immerse
electrode parts in Solution C for checking” through “⑥ Check measured value”
• If the measured value is in the good range , the operation “⑨” is not required. Proceed, then,
to “⑩ Post-treatment”.
⑨ Calibrate cell constant…… >> “6.3 (3) Cell Constant Calibration
⑩ Post-treatment …… Take the electrode parts out of the calibration beaker and clean
them (>>“② Clean electrode parts”). Fit the protective cylinder on.
【
IMPORTANT
】•
When measuring the sample, ensure that the pH electrode protective
cap is removed.
⑪ Power supply OFF …… Press and hold on the control panel for at least 2
second (until a beep is heard).
(3) Cell constant Calibration
(a) If the measured value is not in the good range as found by “6.3 (2) Electrical Conductivity Cell
Check”, calibrate the cell constants.
(b) Utensils such as a thermostatic bath and a commercially available stirrer are needed for the
calibration of the cell constants. The preparation of a calibrating solution is also necessary. >>
“6.3 (4) Preparation of Cell Constant Calibration Solution”
(c) On completion of a cell constant calibration, the calibrated cell constants are overwritten, and
subsequent calculations are performed using the overwritten constants. The cell constants can be
returned to default.
① Preparations……Prepare the following.
• Thermostatic bath
• Water stirrer and stirring element……Optionally available on the market (different from one
for dissolved oxygen)
• 2000 ml volumetric beaker……1
• Calibration solution C ……2L (>>“6.3 (4) Preparation of Cell Constant Calibration
Solution”)
② Thermostatic bath temperature to at 25ºC……Set the water temperature of
the thermostatic water bath at 25 ± 0.1ºC, place the base of a commercially obtained water
stirrer in the thermostatic bath, and place a 2000mL volumetric beaker containing Solution C
for checking and a stirring element. Then, turn on the stirrer power supply.
【
IMPORTANT
】
•
When you calibrate the cell constants, always set the calibration solution
temperature at 25
±
0.1º by means of a thermostatic bath or the like.
