CHAPTER 4 FINE-ADJUSTMENT AND OPTION SETTING
1-4. Setting the Nipper
If the spine is too round or too sharp, adjust the width of the nipper.
Nipper
Select Button

Select the nipper select button.
The screen for adjusting the nipper will
appear. If you have not performed a size
change, the screen will not appear.
Increment Change Button

Press the move buttons to adjust the
nipper.
Fine-adjustment range: –2.0 to 5.0 mm
(–0.08 to 0.20 inch)
Move button 1: The nipper moves farther
from each other.
Move button 2: The nipper moves closer to
each other.
Increment change button:
You can select the increment from 0.1
mm/0.5 mm/1.0 mm (0.004 inch/0.02
inch/0.04 inch).
: 0.1 mm (0.004 inch)
: 0.5 mm (0.02 inch)
: 1.0 mm (0.04 inch)

Press the return button to return to
the screen used in step 1.
To know the current width of the nipper, press the nipper guide select button ( p.4-5).
When you press the nipper guide select button, the nipper guides will go up and the
nipper width will be the same as the book block width. Then you will know the
current width of the nipper.
