Connection of the instrument 18

2.) Protection of voltage measurement inputs
The connection is a "functional earth" connection. It diverts disturbances that act on the digital
I/O and the RJ45 connector.
Connect the functional earth to the equipotential bonding bar in the control cabinet.
Alternative voltage supply with 12 to 24V DC
As an alternative to the AC voltage supply, the instrument can also be supplied with 12 to 24 VDC.
However, this is not carried out over the AC supply voltage connection, but instead over the Modbus
RTU interface connector. Fig. 7 shows the supply of the instrument with 24 VDC.
Ensure correct polarity of the DC voltage during connection.
Caution!
Unprotected supply voltage can lead to damage to the instrument and system. Secure the
instrument at all times with an IEC approved 1A fuse, an IEC approved 1A circuit breaker,
or additional safety device.
Caution!
Unprotected or reversed polarity supply voltage can lead to damage to the instrument or the
system. Secure the instrument at all times with an IEC approved 2 A fuse or additional safety
device.
