Manual econ sens3 Version 3.0
Electrical submenu
The Electrical submenu is used to configure the connection network of the econ sens3.
The econ sens3 can be used in various networks; e.g., in 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire networks with any
load. The instrument can be used in networks with rated voltages of 120V or higher (e.g. in the USA)
and in networks with 230/400 V. The network frequency is 50 Hz.
Only a few settings are needed to configure the network in which the econ sens3 is used.
You can either use a preselected setting or put together all of the parameters yourself with the user-
defined settings.
Explanation of user-defined settings:
In Europe, primarily 230/400 V networks are used. The 130/230 V setting should be used for networks
in the USA; 400 V networks are used in large industrial plants or wind turbines.
The network frequency in Europe is 50 Hz. Before you make any change to these parameters, you
should first determine what setting should be selected.
Generally speaking, you will use the econ sens3 in a network, or measure the power consumption of a
user, that is supplied with three phases and a neutral conductor. Exceptions are symmetrical users;
e.g., large electrical motors; these are only linked over three phases.
