Problem Possible cause and remedy
1. The “Smoothing” icon on the Setting menu
“Screen” cannot be selected.

2. No audio output • Checkwhetherthestereominijackcableisconnected
properly.
• Checkthecurrentexternaldeviceandaudioplayback
softwaretoseewhethertheyareconguredcorrectly.
• WithDisplayPortandHDMIinput,trycheckingthe
externaldevicesandthe“Source”settingunderthe
Settingmenu(see“Toselectthesoundsource”(page21)).
• Headphones
- Checkwhethervolumeissetto0.
• Speakerwithbuilt-inamplierattachedtothelineoutput
connector
- Checkwhethertheheadphonesareconnected.
3. The volume of the speaker with built-
in amplier attached to the line output
connector cannot be adjusted.
• Withthisproduct,thevolumeofanexternalspeaker
cannotbeadjusted.Adjustthevolumeontheexternal
speaker.
4. The Setting menu does not appear. • Checkwhethertheoperationlockfunctionisineffect(see
“3-7.LockingButtons”(page24)).
5. No mode menu is displayed. • Checkwhethertheoperationlockfunctionisineffect(see

6. The monitor connected with the USB cable
is not detected. / USB devices connected
to the monitor do not work.
• CheckwhethertheUSBcableisconnectedcorrectly(see

• ChangetoanotherUSBport.IfthePCorperipheral
devicesworkscorrectlyuponchangingtheUSBport,
contactyourlocalEIZOrepresentative.(RefertothePC’s
manualfordetails.)
• RebootthePC.
• IftheperipheraldevicesworkcorrectlywhenthePCand
peripheraldevicesareconnecteddirectly,pleasecontact
yourlocalEIZOrepresentative.
• CheckwhetherthePCandOSareUSBcompliant.For
theUSBcompatibilityofperipheraldevices,contacttheir
manufacturers.
• CheckthePC’sBIOSsettingforUSBwhenusing
