Manual Buttonhole (Model 340)
Machine setting
q Stitch:
w Stitch width: 4 – 5
e Stitch length: 0.5 – 1
r Thread tension: 1 – 5
t Presser foot: F or optional B
If the diameter of the button is more than 1" (2.5 cm),
buttonholes must be made manually.
z Pull the buttonhole lever down as far as it will go.
Draw needle and bobbin threads to the left.
Lower the needle into the fabric at the starting point,
and lower the foot.

w Bobbin thread
e Starting point
x Sew the front bartack and left row to the desired
length then stop the machine.
c Click the buttonhole lever toward you.

v Sew the back bartack and right row, and then stop the
machine at the starting point.
b When buttonhole sewing is finished, push the
buttonhole lever up as far as it will go.
