Machine setting
1 Stitch: 7
2 Stitch width: 3 – 5
3 Stitch length: 1 – 3
4 Thread tension: 1 – 4
5 Presser foot: A
Use this stitch to join two pieces of fabric to create an
open work appearance, and to add design interest.
Fold under each fabric edge 1/2" (1.3 cm) and press.
Baste the two edges to a piece of wash-away
stabilizer.

Sew slowly, guiding the fabric so the needle catches the
folded edge on each side.
Remove stabilizer
after
sewing
is
finished.
Patchwork
Machine setting
1 Stitch: 3
2 Stitch width: 5
3 Stitch length: 1 – 3
4 Thread tension: 1 – 4
5 Presser foot: A
Place right sides of two fabrics together. Sew a seam
with the straight stitch.
Press seam allowance open.
Reset machine for patchwork stitch.
Place fabrics under the foot so that the seam line
matches the center of the foot.
Lower the foot and sew over the seam line.
