9.1 Error messages
Message Cause Tests or remedial action
Temperature
too high
The temperature at
the tube furnace is
70 °C above the set
point.
Possible defect:
Temperature sensor,
amplifier, heating
regulator
Has the temperature set at the furnace regulator been changed?
Check the amplifier, regulator and temperature sensor.
Note the temperature or frequency displayed in the module
PRG/TEST/INPUTS/IR DETECTOR AND TEMPERATURE
(850 °C corresponds to a frequency of approx. 70800 Hz). Note
the temperature displayed at the furnace regulator.
Now quickly swap the temperature sensors on the amplifier and
compare the values displayed. If the values do not deviate more
than 1600 Hz and if the temperature displayed at the heating
regulator drops less than 20 °C, the temperature sensors are OK.
Is the frequency displayed for the temperature
850 °C = 70800 Hz (approx. 83 Hz pro °C)?
Temperature
too low
The temperature is
15 % below the set
point.
When putting back
into operation, or
during service or
maintenance
Possible defect:
Cable, temperature
sensor, amplifier or
heating regulator
Temperature
below xxx °C
The measured
temperature is
30 °C below the set
temperature.
When putting back
into operation, or
during service or
maintenance
Possible defect:
Temperature sensor,
amplifier or heating
regulator
Oxygen failure The pressure sensor
for monitoring the
oxygen has been
triggered.
Pressure < 1.5 bar.
Oxygen supply failure
Possible defect:
Pressure sensor, cable
or I/O card
Check the supply of oxygen.
Check signal processing (I/O card slot No. 28, switch input I8)
Go to the programming module PRG/TEST/INPUTS/SWITCH
INPUTS. Release the connecting cable on the pressure switch and
short-circuit the contacts. The switch state of input I8 should react
on the display.
If it does, replace the pressure switch.
If it does not, use a multimeter to check that there are no
interruptions in the cable. Replace the I/O card if the cable is OK.
