3.2 The lifting principle of the system
Four units, put in a square formation, lift the load:
The principle of lifting is depicted below for just one unit.
Initially the system is loaded
with the top barrel. The load is
put on top of the top barrel
The mini-jacks fetch the barrel
The main jacks extend.
The barrel is lifted, together
with the top barrel and the load
A new barrel is put upon the
insertion system
The new barrel is shifted into
the system
The main jacks retract until the
load rests on the just inserted
barrel.
The mini-jacks retract.
The main jacks lower to their
lowest position.
The mini-jacks fetch the lowest
barrel
The main jacks extend;
the pile of barrels is lifted
A new barrel is put on the
insertion system.
The cycle starts from
step 5
