Error type Cause Scanner Action Recovery
Command error Received an undefined command or undefined command
parameter.
• No LED indication occurs.
• The scanner ignores the incorrect command or
parameter (Current setting maintained).
• The scanner returns NACK and waits for the next
command parameter.
The scanner recovers from the error by receiving
a correct command.
Fatal error
The main unit is faulty (The lamp is dead. The Carriage does
not return to its home position).
• The red LED flashes. Turn the scanner off and then back on.
The cover was opened while scanning is in progress.
Close the cover.
The document cover was not removed when scanning strip
films. *

After removing the cover mat, send the
initialization command (ESC @).
The AFL is jammed with strip films.*

After removing the jammed films manually or by
pressing the EJECT button, send the initialization
command (ESC @).
