AFL FILM FEEDING MECHANISM (PERFECTION V350 PHOTO)
The AFL Film Feeding Mechanism is a mechanism to feed 35mm strip films by the
motor drive.
The AFL drive is transmitted to the AFL Motor Belt by a route as shown below.
Figure 2-7. Film Feeding Mechanism
Here are descriptions of mechanical operations from when setting document, and
scanning, and to the time of taking out the document.
1. The Film Sensor (Front) detects the film inserted into the film entry.
2. The AFL Motor starts to rotate clockwise and feed the film.
3. The film is sandwiched between the AFL Motor Belt and the Film Retainer Plate to be
fed.
4. The Film Sensor (Rear) detects the film.
(The Film Sensor (Rear) determines that film jams occurred when it cannot detect the
film within the specified time.)
5. Carry out scanning.
6. After a lapse of specified time, the AFL Motor starts to rotate counterclockwise to exit
the film.
