F ailur e to f ollo w the w ar nings and instr uctions
may r esult in electric shock, r e and/or serious
injur y .
The ter m “machine” in all of the w ar nings listed below r ef ers
to y our mains-operated (corded) machine or batter y-operated
(cordless) machine.
1. W ork area safety
A. K eep w or k ar ea clean and w ell lit. Clutter ed

use an y adapter plugs with an ear thed
(g r ounded) machine. Unmodied plugs and
matching outlets will r educe risk of electric shoc k.
B . A v oid body contact with ear thed or
g r ounded surf aces, such as pipes,
radiator s, ranges, and r efrigerator s. Ther e
is an incr eased risk of electric shoc k if y our body is
ear thed or gr ounded.
C . Do not expose the machine to rain or w et
conditions. W ater entering a machine will incr ease
the risk of electric shoc k.
D . Do not a buse the cord. Nev er use the cord
f or car r ying , pulling or unplug ging the
machine. K eep cord a w ay fr om heat, oil,
shar p edges, or mo ving par ts. Damaged or
entang led cords incr ease the risk of electric shoc k.
E. W hen operating the machine outdoor s,
use an extension cord suita ble f or outdoor
use. Use of a cord suitab le for outdoor use r educes
the risk of electric shoc k.
F . If operating the machine in a damp
location is una v oida ble, use a r esidual
cur r ent device (R CD) pr otected suppl y .
Use of an R CD r educes the risk of electric shoc k.
3. Personal safety
A. Stay aler t, w atch what y ou ar e doing , and
use common sense when operating the
machine. Do not use the machine while
y ou ar e tir ed or under the inuence of
dr ugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment
of inattention w hile operating the machine may r esult

will r educe personal injuries .
C . Pr ev ent unintentional star ting . Ensur e
the s witch is in the of f-position bef or e
connecting to po w er source and/or
batter y pack. Ener gising a machine that has the
switch on invites accidents .
D . R emo v e an y adjusting k ey or wr ench
bef or e tur ning the machine on. A wr ench or
a k ey left attached to a r otating par t of the machine
may r esult in personal injur y .
E. Do not o v er r each. K eep pr oper f ooting
and balance at all times. This enab les better
contr ol of the machine in unexpected situations .
F . Dr ess pr oper l y . Do not w ear loose clothing

hazards .
H. Do not let f amiliarity gained fr om fr equent
use of the machine allo w y ou to become
complacent and ignor e machine safety
principles. A car eless action can cause se ver e injur y
within a fraction of a second.
