Operation
Disengaging the Mower Blades (PT O)

Note: If y ou diseng ag e the mo w er blades b y
releasing the motion-control lev ers , y ou do not need
to mo v e the blade-control switc h to the Off position
before eng aging the blades ag ain.
Side Discharging or Mulching the
Grass
T his mac hine has a hing ed g rass deector that
disperses clippings to the side and do wn to w ard the
turf .
DANGER
W ithout the g rass deector , discharge co v er , or
complete g rass catcher assembl y mounted in
place, y ou and bystander s ar e exposed to blade
contact and thr o wn de bris. Contact with r otating
mo w er blade(s) and thr o wn de bris will cause
injur y or death.
Do not r emo v e the g rass deector fr om
the machine, because the g rass deector
r outes material do wn to w ard the turf. If the
g rass deector is ev er dama ged, r eplace it
immediatel y .
Nev er tr y to clear the discharge ar ea or mo w er
blades unless the po w er tak eof f (PT O) is
of f. R otate the k ey to the OFF position and
r emo v e the k ey .
Using the Platform
Y ou can use the mac hine with the platfor m in the
up or do wn position. It is y our preference on whic h
position to use .
W ARNING
T he operator platf or m is hea vy and may cause
injur y when y ou raise or lo w er it. Car efull y
lo w er or raise the operator platf or m, as suddenl y
dr opping it could injur e y ou.
Do not put y our hands or nger s in the
platf or m-pi v ot ar ea when lo w ering or raising
the operator platf or m.
Mak e sur e that the platf or m is suppor ted
when y ou pull the latch pin out.
Mak e sur e that the latch secur es the platf or m
when f olding it up . Push it tight a gainst the
cushion f or the latch pin to lock into place.
K eep bystander s a w ay fr om the machine
when raising or lo w ering the platf or m.
Operate the mac hine with the platfor m up for the
follo wing conditions:
Near drop-offs
In small areas where the mac hine is too larg e
