I. Creating the Classification
1. Main Window > File > Open List
2. Main Window > File > Open Classification Window
3. Classification Window > File > Open Classification
4. Classification Window > Open Classification Dialog > Type the name you want for the
Classification, then select Create
5. Classification Window > New Class > Type name of sub-class, Add or create or order any filters
that you will be using (if planning on running auto classifications) then select OK. Create as
many sub-classes as you require, creating the preferred sub-classes from left to right.
6. Classification Window > File > Save Classification
7. Classification Window > File > Save Classification as template (if you would like to use the
same configuration on multiple list file runs now or in the future)
II. Auto Classification
1. Classification Window > Operation > Run Auto Classification (with all subclasses and their
appropriate filters in place)
2. Classification Window > Sort through Class tabs to determine effectiveness of filters
3. Classification Window > Class Tabs > Manually move any incorrect particles to correct subclass
(see steps in section III below)
4. Main Window > Edit > Show All Data
5. Main Window > Edit > Open View Window
6. View Window > Show > Classified Images should be Unchecked
7. View Window > Manually classify any particles that remain to appropriate subclass (see steps in
section III below)
III. Manually Classifying Particles
1. From the View Window: (List file open and classification created-see steps 1-5 in Section I
above) Main Window > Edit > Open view window
2. View Window > Right click on a single particle or a group of highlighted particles > Add to
Class > Choose appropriate subclass for particles you are adding
3. View Window > Classify all particles (or particles of interest)
4. From the Classification Window: (With List file, classification open, Auto Classification
complete) Classification > Class Tab > right click on particle you wish to move > move to class
> choose appropriate subclass for particle
