11.4 Air/Water-Cooled Housing
The air/water-cooled housing allows the sensor to be used in ambient temperatures up to 120°C (250°F) with air
cooling and 175°C (347°F) with water cooling. The cooling media should be connected using 1/8” NPT fittings
requiring 6 mm (0.24 in) inner diameter and 8 mm (0.31 in) outer diameter for the tube.
Airflow should be 1.4 to 2.5 l/s (0.37 to 0.66 gallons/s) at air temperature of 25°C (77°F). Water flow should be
approximately 1.0 to 2.0 l/min (0.26 to 0.52 gallons/min) at water temperature between 10 and 27°C (50 to 80.6°F).
The maximal pressure limit is 5 bar (73 psi). Chilled water below 10°C (50°F) is not recommended.
The Air/Water-Cooled Housing is made from stainless steel and is delivered with air purge, see section 12.2.9 Air
Purge (E-AP), page 106. The air purge should be always used to keep the lens dry.
Note
For ambient temperatures exceeding 175°C (350°F), the ThermoJacket can be used. This accessory allows
operation at ambient temperatures up to 315°C (600°F)!
Note
The air/water-cooled housing is equipped with plugs only removable with a 5 mm hex wrench. Check your
supplier for appropriate fittings!
