8.2 Selection of detector
(1) Selection of mounting methods
There are 2 methods for mounting the detector; V method and Z method. For the mounting
space, see the following sketch.

V method Z method
Mounting method
Employ the Z method in the following cases.
Mounting space need be saved (mounting space of the Z method is about one half of the V
method's).
Turbid uid such as sewage is to be measured.
Pipe has mortar lining.
A thick lm of scale may have been formed on the inner surface of pipe because it is old.
In su cient received signal-strength with mounting detectors in V method while using maxi-
mum transmission voltage.
