Paper Types
This section describes the paper that can be used with this machine.
For fulfilling the best performance of the machine, we recommend you to use the paper
listed in "Supported Paper" (P.36). Using non-supported paper may result in paper
jams, lower print quality, malfunctions, or damage to the machine.
Important • Moisture generated by water, rain, or vapor may cause the printed images to fade. For more
information, contact our Customer Support Center.
Paper Type Classification
The following table lists the paper types you can set for each tray.
There are 19 paper types (including Custom 1 to 5) among which you can set for each
paper tray. By factory default, "Plain (64-105 gsm)" paper type is preset for all trays.
For more information on how to set the paper type, refer to "Changing the Paper
Settings" (P.51).

Important • Be sure to load the paper of size and type you set for each tray. Also, it is strongly
recommended to use the standard paper listed in "Supported Paper" (P.36). Using the paper
which size or type is different from the settings may cause the paper jam.
Note • When you reload plain papers printed on the front side, set "Plain Reload (64-105 gsm)."
• When you use automatic duplex printing, you cannot set the following paper types: Plain
Reload, Extra Heavyweight, Bond, Transparency, Labels.
Do not use conductive paper such as origami paper, carbonic paper or conductively-
coated paper. When paper jam occurs, it may cause short-circuit and eventually a
fire accident.
