Solution Overview
Since data equivalence is maintained between two
ETERNUS AF storage systems, even when one of the ETER-
NUS AF storage systems fails, operation can continue by switching the I/O access destination to the other
ETERNUS AF either manually or automatically (automatic failover).

Configuration Procedure
Connect business servers to the
ETERNUS AF storage systems (Primary and Secondary storage systems) via
switches, and then connect the management server (ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser) to the ETERNUS AF storage
systems via LANs.
To perform automatic failover, connect the Storage Cluster controller to ETERNUS AF storage systems (Pri-
mary and Secondary storage systems) via the LAN in order to detect trouble in the ETERNUS AF storage sys-
tems.
To configure Storage Cluster, perform the settings with ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser.
● Required Environment
Two ETERNUS AF storage systems are required.
To use Storage Cluster, the ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Storage Cluster option is necessary.
A Storage Cluster controller is required to perform automatic failover.
