The access limitations for users may be configured in the network.

● Is the network stable?
Solution
Connect to the network after it becomes stable.
A network can be unstable by the following events:
● A network monitoring program is running.
● A file is transferring.
If the network is unstable, restart the network devices. However, before restarting them, make sure that
communications with other devices are not affected if the network devices are restarted. The network
devices may become unstable.
● Did you select the scanner in Scanner Selection Tool?
Solution
Start up Scanner Selection Tool, and check whether the scanner that you want to connect the computer to
is displayed in the list.

● Is the communication status between the scanner and the computer stable?
Solution
Check the communication status between the scanner and the computer.
Start up the command prompt on your computer, specify the IP address of the scanner by using the PING
command, and then check the communication status.
You can check the IP address of the scanner as follows.
● For fi-8190/fi-8290/fi-8170/fi-8270
The IP address of the scanner can be checked using one of the following methods.
- The IP address of the scanner can be checked in [1:Scanner Information] on the [Settings Menu]
screen of the operator panel.

- The IP address of the scanner can be checked by using IP Address Setting Tool.
