8.2 Hot-pluggable hard disk drives
Up to two 3.5 inch or four 2.5 inch hard disk drives can be inserted in the
PRIMERGY RX200 S3 server.
The hard disk drives are mounted on a carrier that allows defective drives to be
replaced or new drives to be added online. The hard disk drive and the carrier
constitute the hard disk drive module (HDD module).
V CAUTION!
Only a service engineer is permitted to remove a hard disk drive from the
carrier.
V CAUTION!
The HDD modules must be marked clearly so that they can be replaced
in their original slots after an upgrade. If this is not done, existing data can
be lost.
V CAUTION!
The hot plug function is only possible in conjunction with a corresponding
RAID configuration.

page 89).
