Probe CMD–Duo
CMD-Duo can be assembled with three intercoil spacings to achieve three
different depth ranges. Thus we can measure with 15, 30 or 60 m effective full
depth range (Hi position) and 7.5, 15, or 30 m effective half depth range (Lo
position).
Put both coils onto the ground, with mark “Hi” on the top. Select
distance/reference cable (10, 20 or 40 m) according to the required effective depth
range. Then attach cable hinges and connectors both on the transmitter (marked
“T”) and on the receiver (marked “R”). Lock the plastic ear into the hinge body.
Do not cross the cable with the black strip. See picture below.
If you wish to measure with maximum depth range (Hi position), use both
coils horizontally, with the black strip and “Hi” label on the upper side. If you wish
to measure with half depth range (Lo position), lift coils to the vertical position,
with the black strip and “Lo” label on the upper side. Keep reference cable straight
during measurement. It is necessary to keep coils coplanar during measurement to
take correct readings (especially in-phase is significantly affected by mutual
position changes of coils).
