29. Fault finding

‐ Switch off the power supply to the
motor and to the signal relays. Wait at
least 5 minutes before starting any
work on the motor. Make sure that the
power supply cannot be accidentally
switched on.

‐ Do not handle the motor or rotor if you
have a pacemaker.
WARNING

‐ If the pump is used for a liquid which is
injurious to health, it will be classified
as contaminated. In such cases, take
proper precautions to avoid injury to
health when operating or working on
the pump.

29.1 The motor does not run when started
Cause Remedy
Supply failure. Check the electrical connection.
Remedy, if necessary.
The fuses are blown. Replace the fuse.
The motor is defective. Replace the motor.
29.2 Motor alarm when the power supply is switched on
Cause Remedy
Supply failure. Check the electrical connection.
Remedy, if necessary.
The cable connection is loose or faulty. Repair cable connection.
The motor winding is defective. Repair the motor.
The pump is mechanically blocked. Clean the pump.
29.3 Occasional motor alarm
Cause Remedy
The supply voltage is periodically too low or too high. Make sure the input supply voltage stable.
29.4 No motor alarm, but the pump does not run
Cause Remedy
Check the power supply. Make sure the power supply connected.
Check the fuses. Replace the fuse, if defective.
29.5 The pump performance is not constant
Cause Remedy
The pump inlet pressure is too low. Increase the inlet pressure.
The inlet pipe or pump is partly is blocked by
impurities.
Clean the inlet pipe or pump.
