Installing/removing an expansion card
CAUTION:
hen you install or remove an expansion card, follow these guidelines:
• Do not touch the surface-mounted components on the card directly with your hands.
• Do not use excessive force during the installation or removal procedure.
• If you are not to install a new card after removing the original one, install a filler panel in the slot.
• Do not install or remove the card when the switch is operating.
The S5560-30C-EI, S5560-34C-EI, S5560-30F-EI, S5560-54C-EI, S5560-30C-PWR-EI, and
S5560-54C-PWR-EI each have one expansion slot at the rear. For the expansion cards available for the
switches, see "Appendix B FRUs and compatibility matrixes."

he installation and removal procedure is similar for expansion cards. The following procedure uses the
LSWM2QP2P card (with an ejector lever) and the LSWM2XGT8PM card (without an ejector lever) as
examples.
Installing an expansion card
1. Wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure it makes good skin contact and is reliably grounded.
2. Remove the mounting screws on the filler panel over the expansion slot with a Phillips screwdriver
and remove the filler panel.
Keep the filler panel for future use.
