2.1.2 Installing the Battery Pack
(Rechargeable nickel-hydrogen
battery)
• Use the optional 9459 BATTERY PACK.
The operating time is longer than that with
alkaline batteries, and the pack is
rechargeable.
• Battery pack is dispatched in an uncharged
state. Charge before use.
Charging Procedure
See 2.1.4 "Charging the Battery Pack" (page
41).
• For battery operation, use only the
HIOKI Model 9459 BATTERY PACK. We
cannot accept responsibility for acci-
dents or damage related to the use of
any other batteries.
• To avoid heat buildup, rupture, or leak-
age of the battery, do not use if dam-
aged, wires are exposed, or the battery/
tester connector is damaged.
• To avoid electric shock, be sure to dis-
connect the test leads from the tester,
turn off power, and disconnect the AC
adapter from the tester, before installing
or removing the battery pack.
• To avoid the possibility of explosion, do
not short circuit, disassemble or incin-
erate battery pack. Handle and dispose
of batteries in accordance with local
regulations.
Take care not to step on the battery pack
power cable, as this may damage it.
