5.3 Unbalance vibration
INFORMATION
The measurement is used to detect the speed-syn-
chronous vibration, which is mainly caused by unbal-
ance.
Description The menu item “Unbalance vibration” allows the
operator to fix the vibration sensor(s) to the optimum
position for the subsequent balancing process.
The magnitude of the unbalance vibration can be
measured and compared to the overall value.
This determines whether balancing is advisable
(see chapter Balancing).
Positioning of vibration sensor The vibration sensor required for balancing measures
the vibrations on the machine caused by the unbal-
ance. In interaction with the speed sensor, the meas-
uring device determines the magnitude (amount) and
direction (angle) of the unbalance vibration.
A tracking filter is built into the measuring device to
identify the vibration magnitudes. This is tuned by
the rotor speed.
INFORMATION
During the measuring process it must be ensured
that the measurement is carried out at a correct
and stable speed
Observe safety instructions – Chapter 2
Preparations A speed marker is attached to the rotor.
The speed sensor is set up.
Speed sensor and vibration sensor
are connected to the device.
Close safety devices.
Basic menu \ Unbalance vibration.
The window “How do you want to measure?”
appears.
Select the measuring function and press .
