Using the Boot Console User Interface
To use the b o ot console user in
terface, follow these steps:
1. Shut down your workstation.
2. Turn o the workstation, for a few seconds. Then, turn it bac
k on .
3. Press 4
ESC
5 at the prompt \ Searching for system ... "
In a few seconds, this message appears:
Terminating selection process.
A short time later, this message app ears and devices that can bo ot HP-UX are
listed as they are found. For example:
Searching for potential boot devices. To terminate search, press
and hold the ESCAPE key.

If your workstation is a member of a cluster (a group of computers that share

disks listed because your workstation has no disks directly attached to it.
