Prerequisites
CAUTION
Before soldering the connectors to the E1/T1 cable, ensure that both ends of the E1 cable are
disconnected from any devices. In addition, all the connectors are soldered to the E1 cable during
the same session.
Context
For the connections of installing the E1/T1 cable, see the section about transmission cable
connections in Hardware Description of each product.
Procedure
Step 1 Connect the E1/T1 cable to the port on the corresponding board, as shown in Figure 11-26.

Step 2 Secure the two captive screws to 0.25 N·m (2.21 lbf·in.).
Step 3 Route the E1/T1 cable along the cable trough on the right of the cabinet, and then use cable ties
to bind the cable.
Step 4 Attach labels to the installed cables by referring to Attaching an L-Shaped Label.

This section describes the procedure and precautions for installing FE/GE optical cable. FE/GE
optical cables are required for communication between a transmission device and a base station
through FE/GE optical fiber.
