3. Remove the dustproof caps from the optical cable. See (1) in Figure 6-31.

The methods for connecting an optical cable to a 10GE optical port and an 8 Gbit/s FC optical port
are the same.
4. Insert the optical cable into the optical module. See (2) in Figure 6-31.
Step 3 Connect the optical module and optical cable to the 40GE optical port.
1. Determine the type and installation position of the optical module based on site
requirements.
2. Remove the dustproof caps from the optical cable and optical module. See Figure 6-32.
