l Ensure that the passage is clear and wide and high enough for the forklift and equipment
to pass through.
l Do not stand in front of the forklift when it is moving, as shown in Figure A-21.

l Adjust the forks of the forklift so that they are in the middle of the lower surface of the
pallet to prevent damaging equipment, as shown in Figure A-22.

l Do not suddenly stop, lift, or lower the forks of the forklift.
l Tie down equipment before moving it, as shown in Figure A-20.
l Slow down the forklift before making a turn. When making a turn, pull equipment to
move along the outer side of the passage center line (to increase the radius of the turn),
as shown in Figure A-23.
