8.2.5 Rework for External Speaker Amplifier in HDA Mode
Description: Speaker I2C port on ALC700 is multiplexed to SNDW pins when the
Codec is configured in HDA mode. To avoid bus contention it is essential on the PCH
side the SNDW (port 2) pins are in tristate mode when the link interface is configured
in HDA mode. Since these pins are unable to configure in tri-sate mode rework is
needed. Rework is to disconnect the SNDW2 interface to the Codec when the link
interface is configured in HDA mode by un-stuffing R9A14 and R9B7. Furthermore,
R7A23 and R7A33 need to be stuffed. Finally, make sure that R9A12 is stuffed as well
in order to provide 5V to the amplifier board.
Impact of implementing the rework:
SSP1 and SNDW2 is routed to header after
this rework
