applicationletsyouchooseanapplicationprogramthatresidesinthe
printer’smemory:
·Currentappl.
startsthelastselectedapplication(bydefaultIntermec
Fingerprintwith"auto"selectedasstandardI/Ochannel).
·Fingerprintisusedtocreate,modify,orrunprogramswritteninthe
IntermecFingerprintprogramminglanguageandtoruntheIntermec
InterDriver.Thisoptionrequiresthatyoualsoselectastandard
IN/OUTchannel,whichisthechannelyouwanttouseforcommu-
nicationbetweentheprinterandthecomputer.Normally,youselect
"uart1:".RefertotheIntermecFingerprintmanuals.
·DirectProtocolisaneasy-to-useprinterprotocolfordownloading
labelformatsandvariableinputdatatoaprinterfromahostcom-
puter.ThisoptionrequiresthatyoualsoselectastandardIN/OUT
channel,thatistheserialchannelyouwanttouseforcommunication
betweentheprinterandthehost.Normally,youselect"uart1:".Refer
tothe IntermecDirectProtocolv8.xx,Programmer’sReferenceManual
.
·LINE-AXP.PRG(LineAnalyzer)isaFingerprintprogramthatcap-
turescharactersreceivedbytheprinteronacommunicationchannel
andprintsthemonlabels.(Seelaterinthischapter.)
·OtherApplicationProgramswillpresentedasadditionaloptions.
Note:
Whenanapplicationprogramisstarted,itmayautomat-
icallychangethecommunicationsetup.Ifanotherapplication
isselectedlater,thiscommunicationsetupwillremainvalid,
unlessthenewapplicationincludesinstructionsthatauto-
maticallychangethesetup.Thesetupcouldalsobechanged
manuallyintheSetupMode.
