le(autoexec.bat)initsmemory.Therearetwocases:
ATheprinterisonlyfittedwiththeIntermecShellfile-managing
program,whichallowstheoperatortochoosebetweenavarietyof
applicationsandfunctions.
BInadditiontoIntermecShell,theprinterisalsofittedwithacustom-
madeapplicationprogramthatisdesigntoperformaspeci
exampletoprinttickets,baggagetags,orproductlabelsforacertain
company.Suchaprogrammaybeinitiatedbyastartup
le(autoexec.
bat)storedintheprinter’spermanentmemoryorinamemorycard.
Therecanbeonestartupfilestoredineachofthreedifferentpartsofthe
printer’smemory.Iftherearestartup
lesstoredinmorethanonepart,
onlyonewillbeusedwiththefollowingpriority:
1.Anautoexec.batfilestoredinamemorycard,providedthecardwas
insertedintheprinterbeforethepowerwasswitchedon.
2.Anautoexec.batfilestoredintheread/writepartoftheprinter’sper-
manentmemory(device"/c").
3.Thepup.batfile(IntermecShell)intheread-onlypartoftheprinter’s
permanentmemory(device"/rom").
IfyouinsertaCompactFlashmemorycardthatcontains
lebeforeyouswitchontheprinter,thisstartup
le
willbeusedinsteadofIntermecShell.
