Bothpartsofthelabelstopsensor,whichcontrolsthemediafeed,are
coveredbyplasticguides.Theguidesaretransparenttoallowthelightto
passbetweenthetwopartsofthelabelstopsensor.Theseareas(indicated
byashadeofgrayinillustration#2below)mustbekeptcleanfromdust,
stucklabels,andadhesiveresidue.
Iftheprinterstartstofeedoutlabelsinanunexpectedway,raisethe
upperguideasdescribedbelowandcheckforanyobjectthatmayblock
thebeamoflight(dust,stucklabels,adhesiveresidue,etc.).Ifnecessary,
cleantheguidesusingacleaningcardorasoftclothsoakedwithiso-
propylalcohol.Donotuseanyothertypeofchemical.Becarefulnotto
scratchtheguides.

fl
ammable,moderatelytoxic,andmildlyirritatingsub-
stance.

Lift
the
inner
part
of
the
upper
guide
and pull it outwards, disengaging it
from the lower guide. Take care not to
damage the cable.
