Compact MPA
4.8 VOLUME OVERRIDE
In addion to the entertainment mute funconality, the Compact MPA is equipped with a volume override signal as a relay
driver output (Open Collector source/sink) which is acvated during both GA and Emergency PA. This signal is used for reset-
ng local entertainment (etc.) volume control sengs related to the GA/PA system. Terminals 49 through 60 can be used for
this purpose. Ref. 4.4 and drawing in 9.3.
4.9 POWER FAILURE
The Compact MPA is supplied from two dierent sources: primary and backup. The system is equipped with a dry closing
contact (NO & NC) output at terminals 93 and 95 that is acvated whenever one of these sources fail, either primary or
backup. This signal can either be used as an interface to external surveillance and monitoring systems or for direct signals, as
rotang/ashing lights or light columns. Ref. drawing in 9.3.
4.10 GENERAL WARNING
The Compact MPA system is equipped with a general warning dry closing contact (NO) output at terminals 94 and 96. This
control output can be used as an interface to external surveillance and monitoring systems for indicaon of system internal
module failure indicaons:
The synchronisaon link between system A and B is defect
A control unit is defect or disconnected
4.11 DIP SWITCH CONFIGURATION
There are two sets of dip switches on the terminal board for signal roung conguraon. S7 can be used to enable entertain-
ment to zones Z1 – Z6. This opons routes entertainment audio to the enabled zones when entertainment input is acvated,
as long as no high priority audio (PA, EMPA, alarm) is acvated.
S8 has switches for selecng PA and/or EMPA on the external PA out, wether PA, EMPA and Alarm mute entertainment and
if the system is an A- or B-system.
