User and Installaon Manual
Compact MPA
5.5 POWER
The operang power is 115/230 VAC as primary, and 24VDC, alternavely 115/230 VAC as secondary. The Compact MPA
system will automacally switch between primary and secondary power sources in case of power supply failure. A secondary
power supply must be present at transion to emergency power supply in order to avoid the system boot sequence of
approximately 30 seconds. The system is unavailable for operaon during the boot sequence.
As an oponal safety precauon, the mains operang power may be pre-switched by means of a mechanical contactor/
switch-over module as long as the secondary supply is present to keep the system from power fail during the switching
period.
5.6 GLANDS
The cables enter the central and weatherproof units by means of cable glands. Where cable glands are not supplied from
the factory, the installer must t glands sized appropriately to the actual cable outer diameter to obtain the specied ingress
protecon.
The installer may drill holes as needed for cable glands in the removable gland plate which is mounted as standard in
Compact Cabinet. Ensure that holes are within cross-hatched area on illustraon above.
5.7 FERRULING
The conductors should be ferruled prior to terminaon onto the screw terminals.
5.8 MARKING
Each cable is to be marked with cable numbers.
Each conductor is to be marked with the specic terminaon numbers.
