7.3.1.2 DESCRIPTION
EM PA messages are always broadcast to all zones/areas in the system.
EM PA is iniated from the 1601, 1605, 1606, 1643 access panels, by means of the EM PA buon. This buon is disnguished
by a red colour.
To avoid unintenonal use, the EM PA buon must be connuously acvated (pressed) for one second to acvate. The but-
ton must remain acvated (pressed) for the duraon of the message. The EM PA is terminated when the buon is released.
The EMPA is announced with a disnct aenon tone. This tone is dierent from the tone used with normal paging.
During EM PA the individual zone buons are disabled, and will not aect the EM PA.
Figure 15: Emergency Paging via 1601.
In case the General Alarm is iniated during the EMPA broadcast, the broadcast will not be interrupted, and the alarm will
start once the EMPA broadcast is concluded.
The 1601/1605/1606/1643 access panels have integrated mute relays that is acvated during EMPA messages from that
access panel. Local speakers may be routed through this relay to avoid feedback.
The congured priority rules dene if it is possible for the access panel to iniate emergency paging. If a higher priority access
panel is currently engaged in an emergency paging, the EMPA-buon indicator will be lit red, indicang that no EMPA is
possible from this access panel.
