Compact MPA
7.3.1.2 DESCRIPTION
EM PA messages are always broadcast to all zones/areas in the system.
EM PA is iniated from the 1601, 1605, 1606, 1643 access panels, by means of the EM PA buon. This buon is disnguished
by a red colour.
To avoid unintenonal use, the EM PA buon must be connuously acvated (pressed) for one second to acvate. The but-
ton must remain acvated (pressed) for the duraon of the message. The EM PA is terminated when the buon is released.
The EMPA is announced with a disnct aenon tone. This tone is dierent from the tone used with normal paging.
During EM PA the individual zone buons are disabled, and will not aect the EM PA.
Figure 15: Emergency Paging via 1601.
In case the General Alarm is iniated during the EMPA broadcast, the broadcast will not be interrupted, and the alarm will
start once the EMPA broadcast is concluded.
The 1601/1605/1606/1643 access panels have integrated mute relays that is acvated during EMPA messages from that
access panel. Local speakers may be routed through this relay to avoid feedback.
The congured priority rules dene if it is possible for the access panel to iniate emergency paging. If a higher priority access
panel is currently engaged in an emergency paging, the EMPA-buon indicator will be lit red, indicang that no EMPA is
possible from this access panel.
