8.4.4 MPA 1603 ALARM PANEL
8.4.4.1 ALARM SETTING
The MPA 1600 can handle 4 dierent alarm types. The General Alarm is mandatory by the IMO/SOLAS specicaons, the
others are oponal and thus of lower priority and signicance.
The alarms can be acvated from the MPA 1603 alarm panel. All alarms will temporarily override any PA acvity from any
users. Users can regain access by reacvang EM-PA/PA.
Alarm priority:
General alarm (All zones)
Alarm 2 (congurable / oponal)
Alarm 3 (congurable / oponal)
Alarm 4 (congurable / oponal)
Check that pressing the “Alarm 1” General Alarm key on the MPA 1603 alarm panel will cause a “Muster alarm” alarm tone
in all areas regardless of any zone previous selecon.
"All" zones are selected automacally. Pass/Fail
8.4.4.2 EXTERNAL CONTROL OUTPUTS
During General Alarm (EM-PA/PA) some external outputs are acvated.
Entertainment mute PA / GA Pass/Fail
Volume override Pass/Fail
GA warning (ashing) lights Pass/Fail
The GA Alarm tone consist of 7 short, 1 long tone bursts. One output is provided for tone synchronisaon and will be
turned o (NO) and on (closing) along with the signal tone:
GA interface to ships whistle / siren Pass/Fail
8.4.4.3 INDICATORS
The system status is indicated by the LED on the cancel buon. The LED should be green when the system is operang
normally, yellow if the panel has lost contact with one of the central units in a duplicated system or red or dark when
contact is lost to all central units.
Check that the LED is green during normal operaon. Pass/Fail
8.4.5 MPA 1605/1606 COMBINATION PANELS
The MPA 1605 and 1606 are combinaons of the 1601 and 1603 panels into a single unit. The requirments around this units
are very similar to the individual tests of the 1601 and 1603 panels.
The dierence between them are the locaon of the EM-PA buon and the system status leds are situated in the middle of
the panel, much like the talk unit.

Acvang “PA” during alarm will automacally select the “EM-PA” funconality. The alarm tone will be muted during this
override.
