4.3  RADAR ECHO

4.3.2  MAIN BANG SUPPRESSION ADJUSTMENT 
Main Bang Suppression is adjusted to suppress main bang, a reflection signal from 3D 
circuit including wave guide tube, that generally appears as a circular image focusing on 
the center of the radar display. 
Optimum adjustment allows main bang image to remain lightly on the display. This 
adjustment is made for settings in the processing circuit of the display unit. 
 
WARNING
 
 
Do not change Suppression Level/DIST unless absolutely 
necessary. 
Incorrect adjustment will result in deletion of nearby target images 
and thus collisions may occur resulting in accidents. 
 
 Before adjustment 
  Set the range to 0.125 NM. 
  Set the radar video enhance function. 
  Set the radar video process function. 
  Turn the [GAIN] control to the maximum position (clockwise fully). 
  Turn the [RAIN] control to the minimum position (counterclockwise fully). 
  Turn the [SEA] control to achieve the strength with which main bang can be judged. 
 "Main Bang Suppression" operations 
1  Open  RADAR Echo  -  Main Bang Suppression . 
 
"Main Bang Suppression" menu appears.
