The SHUTTER button on the right side section is used to select STEP for
fixed shutter speed or V.SCAN variable scanning rate for shooting computer
monitor screens.
STEP .............. Enables setting of different fixed shutter speeds. [1/120,
1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000]
VARIABLE....... Selected when shooting computer monitor screens, etc.
[Variable range: 50.1 to 2053.6 Hz]
Selects the W.BAL switch (

on page 13) position to which the FAW (Full-
Time Auto White Balance Adjustment) function is to be assigned.
NONE ............. FAW function is not used.
A ..................... FAW is assigned to the A position.
B ..................... FAW is assigned to the B position.
PRESET ......... FAW is assigned to the PRESET position.
Selects the gain value in each position of the GAIN switch (9 on page
13).
Smoothens the transition when the GAIN switch (
9
on page 13), or
WHT.BAL switch (
@
) is switched over and achieves gradual change in
place of sudden change.
However, the smooth transition function does not function when switching
the GAIN switch set in ALC, FAS button and the LOLUX button.
ON .................. Activates the smooth transition function.
OFF ................. Deactivates the smooth transition function.
The CAMERA MENU returns when the SHUTTER dial is pressed with
the cursor at this position.

Selects whether or not the F-number of the lens iris is displayed on the
Status 1 screen.
ON ........................ F-number is displayed.
OFF ....................... F-number is not displayed.
Selects whether or not the audio indicator is displayed on the Status 1
screen.
ON ........................ Audio indicator is displayed.
OFF ....................... Audio indicator is not displayed.
Selects the safety zone setting.
Selects whether or not a center mark is shown during display of safety
zone.
ON ........................ Center mark displayed.
OFF ....................... Center mark not displayed.
When the SAFETY ZONE item is set to OFF, "FIX" is displayed and this
item cannot be set.
Sets whether the remaining tape recording time or TIME CODE is
displayed on the Status 1 screen.
TIME CODE .......... TIME CODE is displayed.
* The time code is displayed even if the VCR Setup
Menu item No. 516 DISPLAY SELECT is set to
“CLOCK”.
REMAIN ................ Remaining time is displayed.
Switches the luminance level of the subject sections where the zebra
pattern is displayed.
Zebra patterns also displayed when color bar is displayed.
70-80% ................. Zebra pattern is displayed in sections with luminance
levels between 70% and 80%.
85-95% ................. Zebra pattern is displayed in sections with luminance
levels between 85% and 90%.
OVER 95% ............ Zebra pattern is displayed in sections with luminance
levels over 95%.
OVER 100% .......... Zebra pattern is displayed in sections with luminance
levels over 100%.
The CAMERA MENU returns when the SHUTTER dial is pressed with
the cursor at this position.

16:9 aspect ratio image output. When this setting is selected, an
ID number for identifying the WIDE screen mode is also output.
4:3 ..................4:3 aspect ratio image output.
Note:
• When the image size is set by a designated lens, such as the
A19x8.7BW, the setting on the lens has priority.
• When the REMOTE SELECT item is set to IEEE1394 or RS232C,
ASPECT RATIO will be fixed and “FIX” is displayed.
