5 Integrated radio
This applies to meters with integrated radio.
5.1 Communication via radio
The meter can be ordered as a variant with an integrated radio “module”. It is used for the establishment of
remote reading in a Kamstrup AMR system.
If the meter is supplied with integrated radio, the meter will automatically try to connect to a radio network.
The integrated radio is equipped with an internal antenna. The radio signal strength can be read by hand-held
terminal. If the radio signal is too suppressed, an external antenna must be connected to increase the signal
strength. Connect the external antenna to the antenna plug that is located to the left of the display.
By using a hand-held terminal, it is possible to read the meter and thereby ascertain that the integrated radio is
running.
Mounting a communication module in the module area may influence communication. Please contact Kamstrup
A/S to obtain additional information.
5.2 Software upload
It is possible to upload new radio software remotely via en AMR system. Please contact Kamstrup for further
information regarding the radio software upload functionality.
